IAC-PSO gathers for 89th Regular Meeting
Pasay City — The Inter-Agency Committee on Philippine Schools Overseas (IAC-PSO) held its 89th regular meeting at the Commission on Filipinos Overseas’ (CFO) main office in Pasay City, on 4 November 2025.
Hosted by the CFO — led by Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II — as secretariat of the IAC-PSO, the meeting was presided by Department of Education (DepEd) Assistant Secretary Jocelyn DR. Andaya; attended by Dir. Vernice D. Quintana from the DepEd Private Education Office, Dir. Catherine Alpay from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Ms. Rocelda E. Galeria from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Ms. Marita del Rosario-Apattad of the CFO Project Management Division. Other attendees include Ms. Divina D. David, Ms. Beverly P. Calano, and Ms. Rochelle E. Fernandez from the DepEd; Mr. Erwin Paul Cristobal, Ms. Rowena V. Jubinal, and Mr. Alvin Antonio Cabuco from the CFO.
Matters of discussion included recent developments on IAC-PSO Resolution 01-2025; the proposed schedule of ocular inspections in select PSOs; relaying of PSO delegate feedback on the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, held last May 2025; a request for the extension of the OWWA’s scholarship to PSO students; the feasibility of conducting the senior high school work immersion requirement of PSO students, in the Philippines; the request of the Philippine School Doha’s for the Philippine Embassy in Doha’s stamp; on the status of PSO applicants in Timor-Leste; relaying of updates on the CFO’s partnerships with the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC), and the Philippine Educational Publishers Association (PEPA), among others.
The meeting concluded with the production of an initial list of PSOs to undergo ocular inspection by early 2026, the CFO’s affirmation of support for PSO students seeking to do their work immersion requirements in local industries, and planning for the 90th IAC-PSO Regular Meeting tentatively set for 15 January 2026.
