CFO conducts second leg of webinar on introducing stock trading game initiative for PSO students

Pasay City — In preparation for the upcoming pilot implementation of its tournament in 2026, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) conducted the second leg of its introductory webinar on the stock trading game for Philippine Schools Overseas (PSO) students on 13 November 2025, via Zoom.

The webinar started with an opening message from CFO Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II, who highlighted the PSO Secretariat’s role going beyond regulation, particularly its current objective in the provision of capacity-building initiatives for the PSO community.

Attended by 55 participants from 14 PSOs, the webinar started with a lecture on long-term trading fundamentals, approaches, and methods by Mr. Raphael Antonio Bustamante from COL Financial Group, Inc. This was followed by a walkthrough & comprehensive tutorial on the online stock trading game, and its other features by a market education associate from the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

PSO students and faculty in attendance raised queries regarding the foundations of the stock trading game initiative, eligibility of foreign student participation, and other technicalities regarding the upcoming pilot implementation of the stock trading game tournament among PSOs.

The webinar concluded with a closing message from CFO Project Management Division Chief Marita del Rosario-Apattad, who pointed out the significance of introducing the stock market to overseas Filipino youth, through PSOs, as the next generation of agents of national development in the diaspora, and becoming responsible stewards of financial and investment knowledge.
