CFO presents programs & services, and receives Filipino-authored publications for PSO libraries at the FSI’s 14th Partners’ Lecture Series

Pasay City — Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II, Chairperson of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), delivered a lecture on the CFO’s services, programs, and projects on 27 November 2025, at the 14th Partners’ Lecture Series of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) in Pasay City, alongside the turnover of FSI publications to be distributed to Philippine Schools Overseas (PSO) libraries.

In his lecture, Sec. Ang emphasized on the difference and mutual cooperation between the CFO and other government agencies involved in migration affairs, particularly the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Migrant Workers. Recognizing the Filipino diaspora’s role towards national development, Sec. Ang presented the CFO’s YouLead program to collaborate with foreign service posts in encouraging diaspora youth to look back at their Philippine roots through heritage and culture. Sec. Ang also highlighted the significance of PSOs in keeping overseas Filipino families together amidst labor migration, and going beyond regulation through the provision of capacity-building initiatives, such as the upcoming PSO Stock Trading Game tournament in 2026, in collaboration with the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Other programs & services presented were the Linkapil program; the BaLinkBayan project; the Exchange Visitor Program; Virtual Sentro Rizal, Peso Sense; the Month of Overseas Filipinos; the Migration Advocacy and Media (MAM) Awards; and the Presidential Awards for Filipinos, Individuals, and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO).

Sec. Ang concluded his lecture through a brief presentation on potential collaboration areas between the CFO and the FSI, particularly on inter-agency, coordination, international cooperation, and academic linkages. In an open forum, Sec. Ang clarified queries regarding the status of Filipino immigrants in the United States, and the possibility of deploying an attaché, among others.

The lecture culminated with a turnover ceremony of FSI publications, namely, “Helena Alegre: Lady Bug”; “The Like and Works of Felix Pardo de Tavera: Triumph and Tragedy”; “Dakilang Lagunense: The Art and Artists of Laguna”; “Salvador Ching: Art Activism”; and “Ang Paglalakbay ni Galo”. The aforementioned will be sent to PSOs, with an aim to increase Filipino publications in the latter’s libraries. In attendance were members of the diplomatic corps & officers from other government agencies.

The FSI Partners’ Lecture Series is a platform for Heads of Government Agencies and other organizations to share knowledge, priorities, and advocacies.
