CFO sends donated FSI publications to fortify Filipino materials in PSO libraries

26 December 2025 — The Commission on Filipinos Overaseas (CFO), as Secretariat of the Inter-Agency Committee on Philippine Schools Overseas (IAC-PSO), commenced the delivery of copies of publications donated by the Foreign Service Institute (FSI). The turnover from FSI to CFO was done during the 14th Partners’ Lecture Series, where CFO Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II also served as speaker.

The said publications consists of five titles: (1) “Helena Alegre: Lady Bug” by Evelyn O. Katigbak, Sayoka Takemura, and Ma. Anna KAterina C. Fulgencio; (2) “The Life and Works of Felix Pardo de Tavera: Triumph and Tragedy” by José María A. Cariño; (3) “Dakilang Lagunense: The Art and Artists of Laguna”; (4) “Salvador Ching: Art Activism” by Evelyn O. Katigbak; and (5) “Ang Paglalakbay ni Galo” by Patrick John F. Mansujeto and Victor P. Estrella, translated by Ma. Luisa P. Young.

In his lecture on the CFO’s role in diaspora engagement, attended by members of the diplomatic corps & officers from other government agencies, Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II highlighted the significance of PSOs in keeping overseas Filipino families together amidst labor migration, and going beyond regulation through the provision of capacity-building initiatives, such as the forthcoming 2026 PSO Stock Trading Game tournament, in collaboration with the Philippine Stock Exchange.

The publications are expected to reach thirty-five (35) PSOs in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Europe by 2026.
